Let the Home Renovations Begin

Brian and I bought a house back in January and it is perfect.  It is in the perfect neighborhood, great yard and in such great shape.  The only problem is that it is in perfect 1960's condition.  We have decided to tackle one home project at a time.  We painted every room and from that experience we decided we will now be paying some one to do all the painting from here on out.  Brian completely refinished all the hardwood floors and during that time I was conveniently out of town visiting family.  But now it is time to start with the big projects and first on our list is our family room/den.  We spend so much time in the room watching TV, eating and hanging out, it just isn't very "us."  This massive room is covered in wood paneling and even my Grandma said that "the wood paneling has got to go."

So here are the before pictures and hopefully soon I can share the after pictures:

"When did we become adults and how do we make it stop?"

There comes a in everyone's life when you realize it is time to grow up and leave all your crazy days behind you.  Unfortunately for me, I came to this realization a little later than most and to be honest, I am not sure if I want to leave all my craziness behind me.  Don't get me wrong, I don't think I am a complete hot mess.  I graduated from Miami University (the one in Ohio - the real Miami ::wink-wink::), I have a big kid job as an Industrial Engineer, and I got married 3 month ago.  Youd don't get more grown up than marriage and being a homeowner.

This blog is going to focus on all the joys of being a grown-up and the journey to get there and the occasional slip back in my party days.
