A dog in 2011?

I have been begging for a dog for what seems like forever.  Last year at this time my best friend/dog Libby passed away and at that moment I vowed I would never go through this pain again.  Libby lived in Ohio so I missed her daily but they day she was taken away and I knew I would never pet her again was the most gut wrenching pain.  So imagine my surprise that today Brian and I are seriously thinking about going and seeing a cock-a-poo puppy.  So not only am I overcome with feelings of sadness and guilt because I originally felt like I was betraying little Libby, but I am also wondering if Brian and I are ready for this next huge leap into adulthood.  Are we ready to take on the responsibility?  I think we are but we will just see what is in store for us...

New Year Resolutions

Eight days into the new year and I am holding strong on my new year resolutions.  #1. Lose Weight.  Typical resolution but I am adding a sub part to this resolution.  I am not going to buy any clothes until I lose at least 10 pounds.  This is going  to be difficult since shopping tends to be my hobby and most importantly my therapy. # 2. Out with the old - if I bring something into this house, I must get rid of something else.  Maybe I have watched too much TLC's hoarders.  #3. Care less about the Kardashians. Seriously.  They are everywhere.  They are all over TV, Twitter and magazines and quite frankly I think we have learned all there is to know about this family.  I am over it and ready for another family to take of the E network.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Christmas to me is the most magical time of the year.  The countdown begins around July and the excitement continues to build as the time creeps closer and closer.  So the fact that it has come and gone has caused some winter blues.  All the decorations are down and the outside lights have been turned off.  Is it sad I am already looking forward to Christmas 2011?

If you have a 'before' there must be an 'after'

Well it has taken me almost 4 months to update with the after pictures of our living room/den which is pretty sad.  But better late than never right?

Whew - Room #1 complete.  Next up kitchen.... to be continued.....
